Customs officers from the Southern Maritime Territorial Directorate seized an undeclared 454 kg of hookah tobacco and goods with the logo of protected trademarks during a search of a truck.
On 04.05.2020, a truck with Turkish registration arrived at the Kapitan Andreevo Police Department, traveling from Turkey to Germany. The driver, a Turkish citizen, presented regular documents for the transported cargo – elements of iron and aluminum, auto parts and plastic products. According to the “risk analysis” method, the truck was selected for a thorough customs inspection, during which undeclared 454 kg of hookah tobacco with the inscription “Jibiar” without excise label were found. Also found were 1710 textiles, most of which were T-shirts, shorts, blouses and 182 bags and purses with the logo of Givenchy, Tommy Hilfiger, Boss, Balenciada, Nike, Moncler, Louis Vuitton. The goods worth BGN 156,722 were seized. Pre-trial proceedings were instituted in the case by an investigating customs inspector under the supervision of the Haskovo District Prosecutor’s Office.
