Customs officers found nearly 4,000 boxes of cigarettes in a cooler bag, hand luggage and a cache

Customs officers from the General Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation seized 76,680 pieces / 3834 boxes / of cigarettes hidden in a hiding place, a cooler bag and in hand luggage, during customs inspections of one truck and two cars leaving the country in the areas of the Danube border checkpoint. bridge – Ruse and border checkpoint Danube bridge – Vidin in recent days. The entire seized quantity of tobacco products is affixed with a valid Bulgarian excise excise label, but they were transferred in violation of the excise legislation and the necessary accompanying documents under the Excise Duties and Tax Warehouses Act / ZADS / were not submitted for them.
Of this amount, 2,580 boxes / 51,600 pieces / of cigarettes with Bulgarian excise labels were found in a hiding place under the floor and in six hand luggage bags, during a thorough customs inspection of a car leaving the country in the area of ​​the Danube Bridge-Ruse border checkpoint on 06.06.2020 The car was traveling from Bulgaria to Germany. For acts, two acts have been drawn up against the driver and a passenger in the car, Bulgarian citizens.
During another customs inspection on 05.06.2020 also in the area of ​​the Danube Bridge – Ruse border checkpoint, the customs officers found 4400 pieces / 220 boxes / of cigarettes with Bulgarian excise excise in a cooler bag in the driver’s cab of a truck traveling from Bulgaria to Germany. An act for the established administrative violation was drawn up against the driver, a Bulgarian citizen.
On 07.06.2020 in the area of ​​the Danube Bridge – Vidin border checkpoint 1034 boxes / 20 680 pieces / of cigarettes with Bulgarian excise labels of various trademarks were seized during a customs inspection of a car leaving the country, also driven by a Bulgarian citizen.
