Nearly 100,000 “branded” summer clothes and a large amount of thermal stickers for clothes detained customs officers of the Ministry of Justice of Lesovo

Customs officers from the General Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation and the Territorial Directorate of the South Maritime detained 96,966 summer and sportswear, swimsuits, bags, slippers and shoes, as well as 54,700 kg of thermal clothing stickers with world-famous brands.
The “branded” goods were confiscated due to reasonable suspicions of infringed intellectual property rights. They were found in recent days during customs inspections of five trucks entering the country from Turkey. Some of the seized “branded” goods were declared textile products, others were smuggled between declared goods. Detected “branded” goods are seized pursuant to Regulation (EU) № 608/2013. For the undeclared quantity, acts for violation of the Customs Act have been drawn up against the drivers.
In one of the cases, on June 25, 2020, 14,685 undeclared and 9,926 declared women’s, men’s and children’s T-shirts, pants, swimsuits, slippers and sports sets with the designations of dozens of world brands were seized. The driver, a Bulgarian citizen, was transporting textiles from Turkey to Hungary.
In another case, 38,270 children’s, men’s and women’s sports sets, T-shirts, pants, dresses with the designations of dozens of world-famous brands, including NIKE, ADIDAS, LACOSTE, CALVIN KLEIN, PRADA, ARMANI, VERSACE, GUCCI, LOUIS VUITTON and others. , were found on 12.06.2020 in a truck with foreign registration, driven by a Turkish citizen. He declared that he was transporting textiles from Turkey to Germany. The inspection established that the goods correspond to the declared quantity, but among them there is a large quantity of textile products with designations of world famous brands.
Another 30,970 textiles – T-shirts, shorts, skirts, sports sets, wearing world brands, as well as 54,700 kg of thermal stickers for clothes with logos ADIDAS, NIKE, GUCCI, PUMA, ARMANI, LEVIS, DIESEL, CALVIN KLEIN and etc. were seized on 15.06.2020, during a joint inspection with officers of the Border Police. The goods were transported in a truck with Turkish registration, driven by a Turkish citizen traveling to Hungary.
Another 2,433 women’s and men’s T-shirts, bags and sports shoes with the markings of dozens of world brands were found in a truck with declared textiles from Turkey to Bosnia and Herzegovina. They were detained on June 21, 2020 in a truck driven by a Moldovan citizen and 682 pairs of smuggled children’s sports shoes with the brand DYSNEY. In addition to the declared goods, it was established during the inspection that another 33 boxes of undeclared children’s sports shoes were transported in the cargo space.
Pursuant to Regulation (EU) № 608/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council on the protection of intellectual property rights, cases shall be notified to the proprietors of the trademarks concerned to decide whether the declared and undeclared goods seized infringe the intellectual property rights of relevant brands.
