Customs officers from the Southern Maritime Territorial Directorate detained 289 packages of growth hormone and 462 packages of 33,160 tablets with drugs for various purposes. The contraband drugs were found during an inspection at the Kapitan Andreevo Customs Checkpoint.
On 08.12.2020, at around 06.00, a truck with Bulgarian registration, driven by a Bulgarian citizen, arrived at the entrance route of the checkpoint. The vehicle was selected for a thorough customs inspection, during which 289 packages were found in various places in the driver’s cab – pens with injectable solution with the drugs “Genotropin” and “Humatrope” – growth hormones. Another 299 packs of 100 Tiromel tablets and 163 packs of 20 Cabaser tablets were found – medicines with different applications.
The smuggled 751 packages with medicines worth nearly BGN 100,000 were seized. Pre-trial proceedings have been instituted in the case, which are being conducted by an investigating customs inspector under the supervision of the Haskovo District Prosecutor’s Office. By order of OP Haskovo, the man with initials P.Ch. at the age of 57 he was brought to criminal responsibility for a crime under Art.
