Customs officers detained 3,630 “branded” parts for mobile phones

Customs officers from the Plovdiv Customs Bureau detained 3,630 “branded” parts for mobile phones during a check of a truck.

On April 9, 2021, the customs officers inspected a truck with Turkish registration, transporting goods – parts for telephones for cellular and other wireless networks from Turkey to Bulgaria. The inspection established that the goods corresponded to those described in the customs documents, but part of them bore the logo of a trademark. 3630 parts for mobile phones were found in 147 boxes – LCD display, touch screen, battery and side strips with the Huawei brand. Due to suspicions that the goods infringe intellectual property rights, he was detained.

The owner of the trademark will be informed about the case in implementation of the European Regulation 608/2013 on the protection of intellectual property rights and the Law on Trademarks and Geographical Indications.
