Customs officers opened a warehouse for illegal alcohol in the town of Byala.

On 09.08.2021, inspectors from the Operational Control Sector, Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department at the Ruse Customs TD inspected a room used by a shop for trade in soft drinks and spirits as a warehouse. The alcoholic beverages were distributed in 35 glass bottles of whiskey from popular brands with a Bulgarian excise label, which is visibly untrue (with a re-photographed holographic tape). Another 10 bottles were found, sealed with an expired excise label and three more without an excise label.

Customs officers also found 16 liters of bulk alcohol at the site, as well as 96 empty glass bottles of high-alcohol beverages, which were seized.

Pre-trial proceedings were instituted in the case under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office – Ruse, Territorial Department – Byala.
