The customs officers from TD “Yuzhna Morska” detained over 33,000 textiles, shoes, accessories and perfumes during inspections during the last 10 days of MP Kapitan Andreevo. The goods were seized on suspicion of infringing intellectual property rights.
The largest quantity of “branded” goods was found on March 8, 2021. in a truck with Bulgarian registration, traveling from Turkey to Poland. The truck was selected by the “risk analysis” method for a thorough customs inspection, which found that the quantity of groupage goods of 627 packages coincided with the announced, but part of it bears the emblems of world brands. 25,572 textiles were found, of which 12,000 T-shirts 6499 men’s and women’s underwear, 4678 pairs of socks, 2395 shirts, jackets, leggings, shorts, jeans. The textiles have the logo of 25 world-famous brands, including Tommy Hilfinger, Armani, Boss, Karl Lagerfeld, Calvin Klein, Victoria Secret, Guess, Armani, Polo. 792 pairs of sports shoes were also found, of which 529 pairs with the Nike logo, as well as 203 bags, purses, bearing the figurative and verbal image of LV, Gucci. A few days later, on March 15, 2021, in another truck with a foreign registration, entering the country from Turkey, the customs officers found among the declared goods 4399 sports pants with the brand Adidas.
On March 16, 2021, in a car in which four Romanian citizens were traveling from Turkey through Bulgaria to Romania, 494 sports teams, children’s sets, jackets and T-shirts with signs of registered trademarks were found among personal luggage. In the course of the inspection it was established that the undeclared goods belonged to the driver. An act under the Customs Act has been drawn up for the violator. On the same day, during inspections of three cars with Turkish registration, 723 textiles, 309 perfumes, 214 pairs of shoes with signs of registered trademarks were seized.
Pursuant to the European Regulation 608/2013 on the protection of intellectual property rights and the Trademarks and Geographical Indications Act, the goods have been seized and the owners of the trademarks will be informed about the cases.
