On July 28, 2021, a meeting was held at the Central Customs Administration between the Director of the Customs Agency, Mr. Pavel Tonev, and Ms. Andrea Zortman, acting as Attaché of the Customs and Border Guard Service at the US Embassy. During the meeting, issues of good long-term and active cooperation in the field of customs between Bulgaria and the United States were discussed, and participants from both countries presented their priorities.
The Director of the Customs Agency presented the results of the administration’s work in recent months. He noted that only a month ago, the DEA provided the anti-drug department with three dogs to be trained to check and detect drugs, and joint work in this area continues in various forms and with different projects.
The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Directors of the Customs Agency, Mr. Lachezar Krastev, Mr. Rumen Danev and Mr. Pavel Gerenski.
