The amount of VAT collected from imports in September 2021 is a record for the current year
More than 1 billion revenues administered by the Customs Agency entered the state budget in September this year.
The total monthly revenues of BGN 1,018.5 million exceeded the revenues in the same month of the previous year by BGN 185.5 million (22.3%), as higher revenues were reported for all types of revenue sources.
Cash receipts from excise duty in September 2021 reached BGN 564.3 million, which is BGN 30.7 million more than in the same month of the previous year.
Revenues from VAT on imports are BGN 427.3 million, which is BGN 145.9 million more than in September 2020. The amount of VAT collected on imports in September 2021 is a record for the current year.
BGN 26.2 million are revenues from customs duties, which is BGN 8.5 million more than in September last year.
During the period January-September 2021, the revenues from excises, VAT on imports, customs duties and fines, administered by the Customs Agency, amounted to BGN 7,767.0 million. Revenues are by BGN 952.9 million (14.0%) over the reported BGN 6,814.1 million in the comparable period of 2020.
The positive trend in budget revenues administered by the Customs Agency continues in October. According to forecast data, the total revenues of the Customs Agency for October 2021 will report an excess of BGN 123 million over the ones collected in October 2020.
