During the inspection of a truck at the Lesovo Customs Checkpoint, customs officers smuggled 810 tubes of preparations of various brands, representing poisonous substances (various types of plant protection products), at a total value of BGN 46,216. conducted by an investigating customs inspector, under the supervision of the Yambol District Prosecutor’s Office.
At the request of the District Prosecutor’s Office – Yambol, a measure of restraint “detention in custody” was taken against Fyodor C. and Nikolai U. – citizens of the Republic of Moldova. They are accused that on June 28, 2020 at the Lesovo border checkpoint, reg. Yambol on the route entrance-trucks, from the Republic of Turkey to the Republic of Bulgaria in complicity, as accomplices, by truck “Man”, transported across the border of the country, without the knowledge and consent of customs goods for commercial purposes in large quantities – 810 tubes with preparations of different brands, representing poisonous substances, at a total value of BGN 46,216. The crime is qualified under Art. 242, para. 1, p. “D”, supra art. 20, para. 2 of the Penal Code. According to the prosecutor, there is a reasonable suspicion that Fyodor Ch. And Nikolai U. committed the crime for which they are accused. The representative of the state prosecution is adamant that the accused could abscond or commit a new crime. The court accepted the prosecutor’s motives and detained the accused Moldovan citizens.
The ruling of the District Court – Yambol is subject to appeal before the Court of Appeal in Burgas.
