A large amount of diesel fuel without production documents and paid excise duty was seized in a specialized operation

3616 liters of diesel fuel were detained by customs and police officers during a specialized operation led by the prosecutor’s office. As part of the operation to combat domestic crime, including the possession and distribution of excise goods without excise labels, on 28.10.2020 an inspection of a hall in a warehouse used for car repairs in the town of Dupnitsa was carried out. Police found and seized 3,616 liters of diesel fuel in the premises, for which no documents of origin and excise duty were presented. The quantity was stored in 3 one-ton containers and a metal tank to which a measuring device and a loading pistol were attached.

Two men, aged 27 and 71, were detained in police custody. Pre-trial proceedings have been instituted in the case, the work on its documentation continues under the direct supervision of a prosecutor from the Dupnitsa Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
