Nearly 30,000 tablets and ampoules with drug precursors were detained by the customs officers of the MP Kapitan Andreevo

28,910 tablets and 1,000 ampoules of injection solution, containing precursors for the production of synthetic drugs, were detained by the customs officers of the Kapitan Andreevo customs post. The contraband medicinal products were discovered during a customs inspection of a bus with passengers entering the country from Turkey.

On 18.07.2022, around 11.00 p.m., the bus with a Turkish registration number arrived at MP Kapitan Andreevo on the route “Incoming cars and buses” on the route from Turkey to Romania. In the customs control area, the driver and all passengers have declared that they are carrying only personal luggage and goods in non-commercial quantities. During the customs inspection of the vehicle and passengers’ luggage, the customs inspectors found in hand luggage and in plastic bags under the back seat of the bus a total of 28,910 tablets of two types of medicinal product with the main ingredient pseudoephedrine, as well as 1,000 ampoules of injection solution with ephedrine.

It was established that the entire quantity of medicines was carried by one of the passengers on the bus – a Romanian citizen with the initials M.K.

In the case, a pre-trial proceeding was initiated by an investigating customs inspector, which is being conducted under the supervision of the Haskovo District Prosecutor’s Office.
