For the fifth time in a row this month, the customs officers of MP Kapitan Andreevo prevented an attempt to transfer undeclared currency.
On 27.07.2022, a bus with a foreign registration arrives at the station. In the vehicle with a driver – a Turkish citizen, a steward and 11 other passengers were traveling from Romania to Turkey. During a thorough customs check, 15 packages filled with British and Scottish pounds of different denominations were found in a suitcase owned by the steward. The total amount of discovered undeclared currency is 133,640 British pounds and 15,550 Scottish pounds with the BGN equivalent of BGN 346,799.
In the case, a fast-track proceeding was initiated by an investigating customs inspector under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office Haskovo – Territorial Department – Svilengrad.
From the beginning of the year until now, undeclared currency with a BGN equivalent of more than 14,500,000 BGN has been found at MP Kapitan Andreevo.
