930 “branded” carpets and bed covers were detained by customs officers at the Kulata border checkpoint

930 carpets and bed covers with inscriptions and logos of protected world-famous trademarks were detained by customs officers in the area of ​​the Kulata border checkpoint.
On April 15, 2022, in the area of ​​the Kulata border checkpoint, customs officers from the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Department of the Sofia Customs TD stopped a truck traveling from Turkey to Bulgaria for inspection.
The driver stated that he was transporting carpets and bed covers, but during a physical inspection the customs officers found that the goods had inscriptions and logos of protected world-famous trademarks.
100 carpets and 830 bed covers with logos and inscriptions of luxury brands such as Versace, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Gucci were found.
The goods were seized on suspicion of being transported in violation of Regulation 608/2013 on the protection of intellectual property rights. Representatives of the trademark owners are to be notified about the case.
